Prepping Your Nails For Polish

1. Soak Your Cuticles
Prep a small bowl with 2 tbsp. of baking soda, a teaspoon of vitamin E oil, 1 cup of distilled white vinegar, and a squeeze of lemon. Stir ingredients. Soak your fingers for about 2 - 4 minutes. Pat dry. *Optional* During mid-soak, use a small, soft toothbrush to gently scrub nail beds. This is a great mini nail brightening treatment!
2. Push Back Cuticles
Gently push back your cuticles with a cuticle pusher. Never cut your cuticles because that will reverse the purpose of its function: keeping germs out!
3. Even Out Nails
File down any edges that may have been impacted from any physical labor. Always file your nails in one direction to decrease future splitting or chipping.
4. Polish Prep
Wet a cotton ball with lemon juice and gently wipe down your nail beds to rid of access oil. Apply a base coat polish, and you're ready to start painting your nails!
